All Glories to Sri Guru and Sri Gauranga!.
Dear Isvara Krsna Das,

Hare Krishna! All Glories to Srila Prabhupada!

Thankyou for your letter,

>
My nephew, Krishnadas mentioned that he met with You in Villa Vrindavana and maybe You have some comment on our Nature's IQ book. (I'm one of the authors of the book.)  . <
Yes we were happy to meet Krsnadas.

>
If You have some suggestions we are happy to hear it. <

Thank you for writing. NIQ It is a wonderful book and I am very indebted to you that you made it. I am recommending it to everyone I meet and all my disciples. It is a hot cake and it mysteriously disappears wherever devotees are. Unfortunately I left my copy in London.

But there is a mistake in detail which I spotted because I am an amateur entomologist from my childhood. But I cannot say which exact page because the book is not with me. You have a close up photo of a green caterpillar raising its FORELEGS in the air and on its head are big eye shapes. You cite this as a defence mechanism. But in the text you say it is raising its HIND legs. This is not true. That species is very similar to the Puss Moth in the UK so I know what I am talking about. Its 4 back legs are thick stocky and succulent looking and firmly clamped onto the twig in characteristic style. I think in the next addition you should correct this or some entomologist will poo poo your data finding.

In regard to this there is a nice section of Krishna Book spoken by Vasudeva to try and save Devaki from Kamsa's violence by some philosophical instructions:-

As soon as the present body stops functioning and mixes with the five elements of material nature, the living entity within the body accepts another body, according to his present actions and reactions. It is just like when a man walks on the street: he puts forward his foot, and when he is confident that his foot is situated on sound ground, he lifts the other foot. In this way, one after another, the bodies change and the soul transmigrates. See how the plantworms change from one twig to another so carefully! Similarly, the living entity changes his body as soon as the higher authorities decide on his next body. As long as a living entity is conditioned within this material world, he must take material bodies one after another. His next particular body is offered by the laws of nature, according to the actions and reactions of this life. KB 1: The Advent of Lord Krsna

Are you thinking of including some botanical evidence for natures IQ in your next edition?

Thank You very much for Your kind answer.

I have listed the mistake that You mentioned and we will correct it in the next edition (if there will be a next one).

Thank You for the quote from the Krishna Book too. <

> We would like to use the book in the present form, only with small corrections.

But we are working on a new book with my botanist friend, bhakta András. In this planned book there will be exciting examples from the plant kingdom also.

If You have time for it we have a new video presentation about the Nature's IQ book, especially the Australian mallee fowl bird. It is 10 minutes:
